Music from iTunes Music Store are copy protected. The simplest way of removing the DRM and making the songs usable in WMM and other editing programs is to create an audio CD with the songs you wish to edit with. This also conveniently converts the music files to an 'uncompressed' format in the process. Editing programs prefer uncompressed audio like WAV files over compressed formats like MP3.

Make a playlist of the songs. At the top right corner of the iTunes program will be a Burn Disc button. Click on it your CD burner tray will open and iTunes will ask for you to insert a blank disc. Click on Burn Disc again and wait.

Now that iTunes has created an audio CD with the songs you purchased, you'll have to get them back onto your computer. I prefer using Exact Audio Copy (http://www.exactaudiocopy.de/), but any CD ripping program will work - even Winamp can do it. Instructions for ripping songs from a CD using EAC here: http://www.animemusicvideos.org/guides/avtech/audio3a.html.

There are other ways of converting your iTunes music, but doing this method will give you a permanent copy (if you burned the songs to a CD-R) of your purchased music.
