problems with eo video

Postby Leon_KH_Squall » Mon Apr 16, 2007 2:27 pm

I was trying to convert and divX or Xvid avi file into Mpeg (for using it in premiere) with the eo video trial.
I start the program correctly, everything works right, i put the start button the movie starts playing in a smaller window but suddenly, after 5-6 seconds,the window closes itself. It doesn't say error, or anything like that, it only sais: "Converter/joiner engine closed"

How can I solve that?

Please help, I've only got 30 days :?

you can use virtualdubmod to re-encode avi files (which is what you want to do)

open the video file, go to video, compression and choose a lossless codec like huffyuv or lagarith.
then go to file, save as and click save
if you're transcoding entire episodes, you should expect each episode to be about 5-10GB

if you don't have that kind of hard drive space, you can always make small clips to import into premiere

then go to file->save

use those to mark the beginning and the end of the "clips" you want so you can save room

Cinepak = no.

Try reinstalling huffyuv then.

are you sure that you installed both of those codecs?
(the codecs don't install automatically, and do not have a traditional installer gui)
you have to find the .inf file (looks like a notepad with a gear)
right-click it and select install from the list of options

Yes I did that, they still don't appear. I'll try reinstalling virtual dub.
But one thing, I use Virtual dub, not virtual dub MOD. In this case there isn't any difference... no?
