DGIndex help.

Now, this is assuming I did it right up to here. I ripped a small scene into an avi format format. Then, I changed it into .vob by replacing .avi with .vob.

Afterwards, I went into DGIndex and put it into that little square thing. When I press okay. It states, "MPEG1 streams not currently supported".

Also, what's a PIDS?

no idea what a PIDS is...but .vob is the file extension of the files that you get when ripping a dvd (if it's anything else, the program you are using is doing some transcoding...and you'll probably lose quality there in addition to taking longer to rip)

renaming something from .avi to .vob will only create problems (as you've found out).
dvddecrypter is pretty much the standard ripping program for win users here.
If you're set against getting it because it's "illegal", then get dvdfabdecrypter instead (if your current program can't give you straight vobs or expires)

I took a free trial and while the interface is nice and all, it asks for a blank DVD and everything is kept in a temp folder. At least I got it into DGIndex.

Then again, it could be bypassed by putting in a full DVD and since the files are genreally going to be temporary to begin with, it's not a big deal.
