Well, believe it or not ladies and gentlemen, I have just finished it. CONSIDERING IT IS MY FIRST AMV EVER MADE, I THINK I REARRANGED THE TONS OF CLIPS NICELY AND THE VID LOOKS KICKASS. SINCE I COULDN'T CONVERT ANY MORE FILES, I ONLY MADE IT OUT OF TWO OTHER AMVS!

Now why would you go and make a vid out of 2 other peoples AMVs? I mean I see you dont have any Eps or Movies but maybe try to just get clips. The first AMVs I ever made where with clips off the Net but know I rip my own clips. Hopefully the clips you used from both of those AMVs are not too popular or you'll have so time of arguing........

Ok. I took bits and pieces from THREE videos (one of the videos I only use one scene for about 2 seconds). I did not say I created the other ones. Oh, and I have edited and reedited with my own time. The only "editing" done in the original AMVs is transitions, which I have learned how to do by myself. To make a big deal out of this is really unnecessary considering I made tons of new transitions myself and it only took about an hour. Once you see this movie, I'm sure you'll change your mind. The only problem I have is that the file size is 39 MB and I can't mail it through AOL.

I have worked on this for over a week now. Currently, I have this burned to a CD and I am thinking about mailing that CD to RadicalEd0 because he was the only one that supported me. However, if I am able to mail it through AOL, this won't be necessary.

you could just send it over aim, no need to go to such extents as getting the postal system involved
and I guess I better say a few things
I don't officially support taking footage from other's amvs, however, in reality it isn't any different from taking footage offline
that spoken, I don't agree with using downloaded footage of any kind *if* you can get it somewhere else. Let it be a last resort. Like if you're using a series not released yet or are young and have no source of income or etc.
And what I said is true, the fact of the matter is that artsy stuff turns out a hell of a lot better when you're just being creative, and not being limited by the opinion of peers or the source of footage.

so what've we learned? well

dont take footage offline unless you have no other choice
and
dont let other people's opinions get you down. If you're only in this for the praise then get out of it.

That's the problem, maybe you should the thread where we all chewed out -ssj2gohan- It doesn't matter the number, it matters that they're there at all. There is absolutley no way to tell your transitions apart from theirs, unless you intend to credit each and every transition that's not yours completley. Even then after you have that lsit of credits at the end, how will you even know for sure if they made the transition or if it's originaly part of the original anime? There is no way for any body to know any of this. All people will know if that other peoples transitions are in your video and your taking credit because most of them are yours.

Ed, just give me a time (preferrably after 3:00 pm) to be on AIM. I'll send it to you that way. As for the transitions, I'll reply to this and name each and every one of mine that's included.

uh.. since you said you did most of them, I think it'd be faster AND more respectable of you to name each and everyone you didn't do...

*AHEM* use winrar. People do it on AOL all the time, make it 15 mbs or 10 mbs. Have you ever been in PR: infinite, prm or Animatrix?

winrar won't half it's size dude, it's only LISGHTLY more compact than a .zip file. It might shave 2 - 5 megs at the most.

Not what I meant dude. If his file is 33 or so mbs, the advantage of Winrar is not compression but breaking the file up into smaller files for transport. So if he selected 10 mbs, it would break the 33 mb file into 4 files. Since AOL has a upload cap of 16 mbs.

still, would you want to break up your video? I know that I'd want my video in one file.

You wouldn't watch it broken up. Whoever he wants to send it to would just download all four parts and Winrar would then extract the file. You would be sending 4 avi, rm, wmv, mpg files, you'd be sending 4 Winrar files (.rar,.r01,.r02 etc) Well with the next Winrar they are .part1.rar, .part2.rar and so on.
