filtering out background noise

Postby json_json » Fri Nov 29, 2002 1:59 pm

Okay heres what Im trying to do. I have a video clip of a character talking and I want to insert the audio from that clip on top of another clip. I have already extracted the audio from that video clip, but there is some music in the background and some other sound effects in the background. Is there a way to filter out that background noise, and only leave the audio? Ive tried using the noisegate and compressor/expander effects in premiere 6.0 but they don't seem to help at all. I am kinda new at this so any help would be appreciated.

try the bandpass filter.

speaking human voices can range from 500~8000 mhz in most extreme examples, so fiddle around with it.
