Question about Divx player

Postby Oni-Angel » Thu Nov 14, 2002 4:01 pm

I've been wondering which DIvx player would work best for viewing anime on cd such as ROD.

Your favorite directshow player ^_^.

If you have WindowsXP or 2000(w/ upgraded media player, 7+), get Windows Media Player classic, from Doom9. Or try running mplayer2. Simply the bestest media player ever. I've worked with other stupid players before. None of them really offer you anything over the other except for skins, which are rare and really pointless since you're watching the VIDEO not a stupid SKIN!

Keep in mind also that all of them are basically just DirectShow "front-end". They pretty much just have a DirectShow component dropped in that plays the video the same through out each player. There really isn't one that's going to say make your video look cleaner or better then say another one.

I have worked with Sasami2k, which I think sucks. It crashes often, the interface gets fucked up and looks like ass when you resize it and sometimes it totally screws up your video.

I would just use Media Player classic or stick with which ever one you know.

I recommend ZoomPlayer. That's really one hell of a player. I plays DVDs, and everthing the Media Player does (even .wmv and .asf) and everything that can be handled via DirectShow. Plus it's just 400k of installation, doesn't need more than a handful of RAM-Megs, and has the neatest & handiest Interface I've ever used in a Player.

You can download it here:

Oh, and what I forgot to mention: When working on a MultiMonitor system, the ZoomPlayer goes fullscreen on the Monitor you have the program, not like my hatred, Windows Media Player, which goes fullscreen all the time on the primary monitor! Oh how I hate this!
