How to Use Video Effects

Postby OhMyBelldandy009 » Sat Nov 09, 2002 12:01 am

I know what you must be thinking. "Why is she writing in brown? I want a change! Is that okay with you?! Anyway, before I was so rudely interrupted, I would like to know how to use certain video effects in Premiere. One video "To Live By The Sword" by Sandrock Productions, is it? I'm not sure who made it, but that isn't important. This video features differnt screens that are different sizes moving around and playing at the same time.

For instance, you could have Inuyasha chopping off Kagome's tongue in a little box floating around your screen while you have Asuka's skirt flying up in a nother little box that is also floating around the screen! Also, in doki doki's "Right Now" video, the part with the heroine addiction is a PERFECT example of what I have no idea HOW IN THE WORLD to do! I use Premiere, but if I need another program for said effects, I can get my hands on it! Please help me if you have any idea what I am ranting about! ^_^

This gets asked so often God damnit. I'll should write a tutorial.

Use the transform effect, or use After Effects.

Also version 6.5 of Premiere has a nice little "feather edge" effect 8)

Truthfully the Premiere manual doesn't lend you the idea as to how to do multiple windows. Premiere manual/books are more aimed at people doing television work and they cover the title tools more then they probably cover the transform effect.

Adobe would probably want you to go out and grab After Effects rather then them having to muck around and write about / show how crappy their effects and program is at handling Alpha channels and things like that

You can also use the motion settings to make a small little window and have it move around.
