Sound in Premiere vs. Sound in WinAmp

I just noticed that for some reason, there are parts of the song that I'm currently making a video to that cracks and pops when I'm editing. When I play it in WinAmp, however, it plays crystal clear. Could someone have an explanation for this?

are you editing the mp3 directly or did you convert it to a wav first?

What are you editing in, too.

I'll assume you've converted to/are working with a .wav

Yeah when I was writing Super Misato Lipsynch I used the DirectShow component to allow me to playback .wav .mp3 files while doing lipsynching. The problem was when I loaded a mp3 file, it would get chirpy and soung like shit. I tried a WAVE file and it worked fine. My guess is that the DirectShow mp3 decoding sucked ass, probably the same thing with Premiere's.

There are so many problems in Premiere that I truely think it's kind of a half-assed program, which is sad since it's one of the best out there of it's kind for the PC at the moment.

also..if your exporting your project with the video and the audio together, the audio seems to crack and pop in the finished product. Export the video and audio seperately then mux them back together later, if you don't do this already.

Yeah, I need to do that. For some reason the audio in my new video gives out for a split second at 3:37.
