Damn Video Girl Ai DVD...

Post by Akashio » Thu Sep 26, 2002 12:57 am

I just finished ripping my Video Girl Ai DVD and realized that in some of the most dramatic parts (i.e. the ending) have subtitles for the song along the bottom! ARGH! How do i get rid of this...besides cropping or removing them frame by frame... THANK YOU!

Sounds like they're hard subbed onto the footage. No way to remove them in that case.

You can try the subtitle removal guides :}. That usually involves editing the frames by hand

I know how you feel man. I had to stop my Ai video because retarded ass Viz fucking hard subbed the songs. And I didn't want to go through all the trouble of removing the subs on the scenes because all the scenes I needed had subs. Wel not all, but the majority.

I bought the DVD specifically because I had an AMV idea, but....... >___< damn hard-subs. they need to die. i heard something about them releasing a "special remastered edition" sometime in the future. maybe theyll be hard-sub-less. i'm still, planning on buying the R2 DVD(s) to make the video.

I generally don't support HK DVDs ... but since you actually bought the domestic release ... maybe HKs can give you the raw scenes you need?

Same here. A LOT of key scenes I had planned for Sappy Self-Indulgence became impossible once I saw the hard-subs on the DVDs. Damn Viz!
I have no idea how to use this new forum.

Errr, you could ask Lee Thompson how he got his footage for for his Video Girl Ai: The Fall video. I'm pretty sure that there is footage from the end of it in there. (have not seen the video for a few months though)
