Recording streaming video?

No it's not porn, lol. . .

I'm watching tomarrow morning a live video of my sister swimming in a competition. The video will of course be streamed in real media, live. is it possible to record the video for a later viewing as it streams?

I'm not a total computer illiterate, but I am not an expert either. I don't believe this is possible. am I correct?

help appriciated.

This is after the fact and probably no longer useful, but you can either try using a screen grabber program or outputting the video to the TV and recording that.
