what ripping methods do you use?

Post by ZeWrestler » Wed Jul 03, 2002 7:56 pm

hey,

i'm trying to work with ripping with divx 3.1 alpha using the guide outlined in doom9.org. the quality is not the best. so i'm woundering what ripping methods/codecs you would recommend to use.

Yep I'd like to know too... I'm particulary wondering how some of you get that perfect quality with small pixels (i.e.: Mr. Deadman, jbone's vids, ...).

I tried to compress Huffyuv in MPEG and I got a great quality but not those little cuty pixels. My final vid was blurred (though I didn't put any filters).

I follow ErMaC's guide, but I tweak his suggestions through my own experiences.

So, I'd recommend you start by following his guide, but don't be scared to make extra/test encodes with altered settings - just to see what happens.
