character flash

im currently working on a vid that needs the character to flash up on the screen kind of like one of those seizure indulsing flashes but with the picture of the character. im using adobe premiere 6.5 just to let you know.

Uh...I would suggest using inverts. Like, every other frame.

or cut every second frame out and put a white matte below the track the video is on (eg. If the "flashing" part is on Video 2, then put the white matte on Video 1)

Actually, if you plan to do this option on a scale larger than just single frames, you might want to try other variations of this, such as additive dissolves and maxing out the brightness of a clip at the desired keyframes.

Hehe....I'm kinda still learning how to do the whole keyframes thing....

Seriously though, I'm still boggled by the majority of digital video editing. Its kind of tough to find tutorials and manuals that don't cost as much as the software itself (okay, exaggeration, but they're still expensive) which is why ADs guide is a good thing. Coz its free.
