Ok.... Finally got the hang of Adobe, Buuuuttt....

Postby Admiral_Jomalson » Sun Oct 12, 2003 6:36 pm

I've gone and done everything the guide had to offer, and I've got a little problem with my otherwise gorgeous vid.

The video will stop while the audio continues.
I've been at this for about 3 days now trying to fix the problem myself and with the guide, but so far no luck... The video has been exported and compressed properly as far as I can tell.

Any help would be appreciated.

You may have to elaborate a little bit. You see, the whole description part of your post is a little generic, you know? Like generic brand food? Could be anything, seeing as the wrapper doesn't tell you much.It could be any number of things like:

Your Postprocessing is misconfigured
You fucked up somewhere even though you think you didn't
Your bitrate/frame size is way to big for your PC to handle
You didn't compress the video again from its uncompressed RGB state.
Your PC is a hunk of crap.

It could be any of those and more.

Ok, the video has been compressed and exported. Now, I cant really describe any more elaborately whats going wrong aside from the fact that the video pauses (always in the same spot) and the audio will continue. Eventually, the video will resume but the audio is so far ahead of the video by that point. The video is clear, as is the audio... if not for the pause, it would be perfect. :( My computer is a 1.3 ghz Celeron with over 60 gigs memory, and 256 SDRAM. The video was compressed using the 2-pass method, and the audio muxed in. (I tried again and placed the audio in during the second pass instead, but no difference)

What codecs are used? What is the video's resolution?

Once you've finally gotten the hand at Adobe, you can move onto other fine materials such as Paper Mache, Plywood, or even Cement.

Adobe is a company.
Premiere is a program.
Premier is a government official.

This has happened with a few of my videos.
If you play the video in your DivX player, it will work.
But, Devolution told me the problem with my vids was that the frame rate of the video was a different frame rate than the audio, so while you're playing the video in whatever player, it tries to reconfigure and than freezes on you.

.... But don't ask me how to fix that problem.

Ok... I tried it in DivX and you were right SQ, it played perfectly fine. Hmmm how to fix the problem then. I used Huffy for the creation of the clips et al, and XviD for compression. As I said, I pretty much followed the guide ad verbatem.

What I did(since I didn't know how to fix it) is just uploaded the video anyway and told people in capital letters to only play it in their DivX player.

But if you're so interested in fixing the problem manually before setting it out for distro-- You'll have to make the framerates of the video and audio match. I'd guess the video, since speeding or slowing down audio is... Difficult to do, without screwing up the sound, I guess.

But I could be wrong, I'm still a n00b at this. =p

LOL... hey no problem, this is my very first Vid using Premiere (Take that mr. Ermac Smartiepants :P) so I'm a newbie too. Still, any help from others or the pros on this would be much appreciated. ^_^

And, Ermac... I was actually curious, how long have you been at this AMV stuff? You helped write the guide yes?

2000 actually, and I wrote the original guide (which you can still find here albeit it's woefully out of date and superceded by the current guide) although the current guide is now much more of Ian's project than mine, though I still try to help out with whatever I can.

I just reread my post and realized I made the entire thing one sentence, with only 2 commas.

I'm going to go cry now.
