The best tool to create MKV files is a CLI based program called mkvmerge, but not everybody likes to mess with Command Lines ( like me :D ), so we started a project called 'mmg' which is nothing but a GUI for mkvmerge.

Right now mkvmerge is coming with its own GUI based on wxwindows, and Mosu named the .exe file mmg.exe ( :O ), which some people might find pretty confusing, thats what i ment .....
Support the future of video and audio encoding : matroska as container, USF as subtitles standard and CoreAPI as codec interface API in future

new question concerning matroska. How do I setup and use aspect ratio flags to have the video display at the correct aspect ratio?

"Aspect ratio" in the "Global" setting tab.

However, Gabest's DirectShow filter doesn't seem to use the aspect ratio information.

Two players I know of that do aspect ratio correction are The Core Media Player (http://www.corecoded.com/modules.php?op ... e=download) and mplayer (http://www.mplayerhq.hu).

Well I figured out why I was having all those problems. It was the version of MMG I had, like the fact that there were errors, the fact that there was no aspect ratio control in the global tab. I've got a new version of the MKVmerge GUI and hopefully that will fix it.
