Adobe Premiere PRO 7.0

Postby David_Violence » Mon Sep 15, 2003 3:51 am

Has anyone else recently purchased or upgraded to adobe premiere 7.0 ?

It's very much akin to avid dv 3.5 or final cut pro. Run quite smooth on my laptop and I'm about done with a new project on it.
I also moved all of my 6.5 files painlessly into 7.0 with no hassle.
Thanks adobe, this upgrade was affordable and much appreciated.

Premiere took my behind the shed and touched me in the no no place, I bought the upgrade, but I haven't used it extensively yet as it can't use AVIsynth.

Yes it can, it's been confirmed by somebody in one of the threads...it works, but the preview feature is screwed up.

Importers, compilers - Much of the legacy API is still supported, but the new API enables YUV and other pixel formats, 5.1 channel audio, different quality modes, multiple streams, and new SweetPea function suites. Custom compilers have an improved workflow with separate setup and execute selectors, and can turn off Premiere's progress bar. Custom importers are not supported for the initial release of Premiere Pro.

:\ hmmm. Not sure how true that is as the AVISynth import plugin has semi-functionality.
It just doesn't work as good as it did.. Just some minor code changes and it should be alright.. But for now.. I'll hold off on the upgrade...

As far as I an tell, it works as good as it did *before* we fixed the black screen bug. The black screen bug is now a garbled screen bug.

Yes it's probably fixable.

No I'm not likely to look at it at the moment. It requires time, Premire Pro and winXP - three things I do not have.

The source code is really simple though. If you can read simple C++ and know how to complie then look at it yourself.

I recently got it. Looks like the Adobe team finally added (and fixed) everything I dreamed off, but it takes forever to load compared to older versions... :?

Sooo...you can't preview with AVISynth but can you EXPORT with it? I want to purchase Premiere Pro but theres no point if you can't export with AVS files. If thats the case I'll stick with 6.5.

Some people say that they have been able to export with it, however I have not been able to.

You should be able to provided you export at the same resolution that you import with.

The problem is with the resizing.

I seen the other posts on this and seen that is what has happend with other people; however, it doesnt work that way for me. I get a blurry screen in both the preview and in the video export, when the input and out put video are both the same size.

I have been going over the code for the plugin, and the SDK but so far I have not been able to figure out what the problem is. Since I seem to have bigger problems with the video in Premiere then anyone else maybe I am not the best person to be looking at it. :(

I tried Pro and I got the same problem. Even the export is garbled (though there is no resizing)
