How can I rip adio from a dvd?

Postby Shakezulla » Sat Aug 16, 2003 8:38 pm

Theres a version of a song on a dvd thats not available on the soundtrack and I want to be able to take it as clearly as possible... If it helps at all the audio is only about 4:30 mins and is located in the 'extras' section of the dvd and not in the film itself...
Why is it that when a man kills another man in battle its called heroic? But when he kills another man in the heat of passion, its called murder?!

You'll basically have to rip the vob that contains the footage from that part. The next part can be done in different ways. The simplest is to simply save a DVD2AVI project file, wherein it will automatically get you a 2 channel wav file from the vob. You can also try extracting the AC3 stream and demuxing it yourself.

First get DVD Decrypter (it's on www.doom9.org's software page). Make sure it's in mode>IFO I and then find the right VTS and chapter that the song is in (a good way is to find it in powerdvd, the title = vts and chapter = chapter).
Once you have the right chapter selected hit Stream Processing and check Enable Stream Processing. Deselect all the streams except the audio that you want and select Demux for that stream.
Rip it and you have the ac3. You can convert it to wav in Besweet ( http://dspguru.doom9.org )
