Sarah you say it's larger now :O. You're sure it's not uncompressed audio. If it works with uncompressed but not compessed(mp3) then maybe something is up with your mp3 playback filter. In that case try it on another computer.

It's not uncompressed. I checked it in vdub.

Perhaps the original encode had some missing samples or something.

dude, thats kind of extreme. try the simple stuff first.

do you have anything running in the background that may be sucking up the audio controller?

speech to text program? an artificial wavetable synthesis for midi? anything?

Who are you talking to, and what about?

Sarah said her filesize was larger after encoding her audio, klinky wondered of she remembered to compress it before muxing, and I confirmed that she did.

I only suggested that her new, remuxed filesize might be bigger because the first try didn't quite all make it in there.

There is nothing wrong now with Sarah's file, there is nothing wrong with the playback of said file for me, or anyone else that I know of.

So I just have to say :?: :?: :?:

FC
doesn't that almost sound like she changed her Audio format from "Windows Media" to "MP3" ??

MP3 audio is small, yet I've noticed that using Windows Media Codec's for Audio actually make the overall file size smaller again! 8)

 :!: :?:

no post-it, you can control what size your audio is in every codec. And wma is a bad codec. Bad.
