I'm not sure about a band with a crowd, but I recall a crowd scene in Macross Plus, and band scenes in To-Y, Kimagure Orange Road, and Ranma 1/2 Hot Fighting Song Contest. Wait, maybe Bubblegum Crisis for a band with a crowd.

*snickers evilly*

Isn't there rock-bandish stuff in FLCL too? I haven't seen it yet, but from the random images and things I have seen... Ah well, I could easily be wrong. :) *shrugs*

Aquarian Age revolves around a rock band, and it contains several scenes of rock bands performing in front of audiences of varying sizes.

I think I remember hearing of an anime called Kaikan Phase or something like that. I never did watch it tho so I could have it mixed up with another anime.
I've got to stop procrasturbating.

I'm not sure if this would work....but one of the girls in Bubblegumcrisis Tokyo 2040 (Priss) sings at a night club. There are a bunch of scenes of that scattered throughout the series.

I am pretty sure there is a band playing with a crowd in the first volume of Soul Hunter.
Sorry sir but we just can't seem to keep any randomly oscillating magnetic pendulums in stock. They are selling like hot cakes.

The macross 7 movie doesn't have much concert segments but the series should have plenty.

...or you could watch Odorikuruu and copy the credits, as it's sounding like a really familiar list at this point. -_-;
