can't get avs working w/ d2v

^^^
I'm following the guide but I can't even simply get it to read a .d2v file, I wrote in the script
'loadplugin("c:\avsfilter\mpeg2dec3.dll")'
'mpeg2source("c:\mydvd.d2v")'
/end
(without the quotes and the /end of coarse  )

anyway I also d/led a vid to see if it worked and I replaced 'mpeg2source("c:\mydvd.d2v")' with 'directshowsource("c:\documents and settings\anon\desktop\overthebridge.mpeg")' and it worked just perfectly! I got l33t skillz ~.^

anyway it must be something with the d2v file, I followed the guide (1st page of avs basics) and it said turn off the sound and save it as a d2v file... Idunno but what shows up in media player is 'unrecognized exception! (c:\documents and setting\anon\desktop\sample.avs line 2)

Where did you get AVIsynth from?

If you got it with the AMVapp package, then you do not need to, and should not use the loadplugin command.

Also, just in case, make sure your path to the d2v file is correct.

thanks I thought that might be the case (if I don't put the loadplugin line in the directshowsource test it still works) but I wasn't sure, regardless with or without loadplugin it doesn't work (gives me the sme error just line 1 instead of 2). Also for the d2v file, it's in the root directory and I just copy and paste what the file properties tell me, can't get more simpler than that -_- thx for the help though.

oh I don't remember where I got avisynth... but I'll exclude that line from further expiraments.

If you've moved the .vob files you ripped from the DVD since making the .d2v, it will bomb. Also, you may need to use the 1.86 version of DVD2AVI- some computers need this version to work right. Find one of Klinky's posts- I'm assuming you've getting and "Unrecognized Exception" error, and he has a link in his sig to a guide on fixing this.

I am having the same problem with the mpeg2source with .d2v files and listend to what you all said about dvd2avi 1.86 but when i downloaded what I thought was v1.86 it said it couldnt load some .dll file that was in that file. The program still started and when i checked the version it said 1.76. So what im trying to ask is where did you all download 1.86 from?

Thanks a bunch!

Skrasis

p.s. I have been trying for the past 2 days to find and answer to that mpeg2source problem, FINALLY! solved it thanks!
