Problems with VCD audio

I burnt a VCD with my fav music videos, just for the heck of it, since it's the first time I had actually done it. However, every video, whether it was MPEG -VCD perfect, or AVI converted to the VCD MPEG settings, etc, the audio is always off by about a half-second or so. This gets extreamly annoying with lipsynching, etc. I used Nero to burn the CD, and help me make it, which may or may not been a good idea. All I want to know is, is how can I burn these vids (or anything for that matter) without the audio being off? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
