Music Visualization in a video...

Postby bluelife2128 » Fri Apr 18, 2003 3:31 pm

Ok... here's one for the pro's.
In winamp we all no and fall in love with the some how inchanting movement of the music visualization bars (going up and down based on the beat). Is there anyway to creat a visualition for a song and incorperate it into premiere. Almost to use it as a scene transition. All I need to know how to do is get the beat visualisation.
Any suggestions. Common guys... you should have fun with this one. I would try to figure it out... but I don't even know how to start.

Hmm... A couple of other options:

Do you have a Playstation2? There is a program (game?) that does the whole WinAmp visualization thing. You load the program, the disk bay opens and you swap the disk with an audio CD of your choice and it plays the music and does a WinAmp like visualization thing. Then you can take the composite output from the PS2 and capture it with a capture card.

Also, according to Microsoft's specs it is possible to configure a WDM (Windows Driver Model) filter to capture a DirectShow stream. I'm not sure of any products that do this (I don't use a capture card) but at a guess I'd say something like Pinnacle might.

The program you put into the playstation is the music visualisation program, if memory servers there are a few of these but the only one I can find right now is "DSP Music Revelation".

Pinnacle is a different topic; they are a company that produces video hardware and software.
