How do I take a screenshot?

Postby kearlywi » Sun Apr 13, 2003 5:41 am

How do I take a screenshot of my anime footage (say either a dvd rip or a fansub) using any program (vdub, adobe, etc)?

Open up the video file in V-Dub, isolate the image you want and "save image sequence".

Or in premeire, there is an option to export a single frame. Its right beside the option to export your video.

If ur gonna use the VDub method, be sure to click on Windows BMP as the Output Format. Also, "Save image sequence" is located under File. When MJ means isolating, you should use the Mark In and Outs (the little black arrows) to specify which frames you wanna save. And of course, one frame (one click on the Marks) equals one image. :P

You can then use an image editing program like Photoshop to resize (although this can be done in VDub, using the resize filter and Lanzcos3) and optimize your image to a smaller filesize/different image format.

If you just need one image, you can go under Video| Copy Source video to clip board.

Then paste the image into any one of your fav image editing/converting programs.

I suggest www.irfanview.com ;o. Best image viewer/converter EVAR~!

I dont know what to say. I followed your instructions to the letter but after I hit "OK" in the save image sequence box and then checked the directory I assigned there were no files of any type to be found. Do I need to check the box that says "Dont run this job now, add it to job control so I can run it in batch mode?" Or do I need to "save it as avi" after i hit ok? (which wouldnt make any sense).
