kearly seems very confused.

25 mins @ 11mb = 60 kbps o.O

does a bitrate of 60 actually have decent quality? i did a compression with 120 kbps once and it looked terrible (not with helix 9.0 tho).

No, its not possible to get decent quality from 60kbit! You have to actually use a decent bitrate if you want to get good quality.

For me, "decent bitrate" is 1024-2048 Kbits/sec, with Gaussian Blur if my footage is live-action or CGI and without it if my footage is cel animation. Live-action footage at 2048 Kbits/sec with Gaussian Blur looks godly! Well, animation at the same bitrate with Gaussian Blur also looks godly, but it has much bigger filesizes. For some reason, Gaussian Blur decreases live-action filesizes by 33%, but increases animation filesizes by 50%! Ergo, I only use Gauss for live-action footage and not animation.

Lemme explain why I like Gaussian Blur:

(1) No JPEG fuzzing.
(2) Less pixellation
(3) You can still see each individual hair in Londo's crazy mane.
(4) JPEG fuzzing go bye bye!
