AV Sync Problem

Postby SS5_Majin_Bebi » Tue Mar 04, 2003 3:51 am

Yo. Can anyone shed light on a hassle ive been having? it goes thusly.

I rip a DVD in Smartripper.
I open DVD X to encode it with.
I set all my encoder options up, Usually either DivX or XviD at 100%
quality, quantizer 2.
I check the Audio Video syncronization box.
I encode.
I watch finished product. One problem. Ahem...

THE FUCKIN VIDEO AND AUDIO ARE OUT OF SYNC. I'VE TRIED EVERYTHING AND ITS PISSIN ME RIGHT THE FUCK OFF!!!

So, can anyone tell me where i went wrong?

(o, btw the AV sync box makes no difference either way.)

Sigh, another douchebag whining that his question isn't answered instantaneously... when he posts while most viewers of this board are asleep. Simply brilliant.

If I didn't have to go to work right now, I might be tempted to respond with the information you'd find yourself if you were to search through the forum.

Watch out for ABR audio (in LAME) because I had some problems (and heard of others having problems too) with that. Try going back and doing CBR audio if you are doing ABR now.

Man... you people with your damn fast computers. Lay off, TAB! Some of us have to deal with sub 500 MHz systems! I could upgrade, but I'm giving all my money to the donut, even though I'm not using it. But that is an issue for an entirely seperate thread!!! :x

after wading thru the avalanche of bullshit (thanks, jbone *up yours*) i have a little more info than what i did when i posted. thanx, edo, for the decoder info. As for my system, its an AMD Athlon XP 1800+ that runs at 1.53gHz, so i dont think i NEED a faster system.

Far better and more intelligent people have expressed far greater insults than that to me.

Fortunately, your inability to capitalize or punctuate properly is sufficient to prove that you're not as smart as you think.

I can capitalise and punctuate properly. I just choose not to, seeing as it's easier and quicker to type without caps and punctuation. Telling me I lack skills in written and spoken English is a little wrong, too, seeing as when I was age 6, my reading, writing and comprehension level was that of an 18 year old. And it's only gone up from there. So if you'd just like to retract that last comment, I think we'll get on just fine.

You should use VirtualDub for encoding... That is after all the DVD2AVI and AVS scripting and stuff. It never gives me much hassle... And if you're encoding those video to make an AMV, maybe HuffYUV is a better choice of compression.

I would use huffyuv, but I don't have that much room on my hard drive. I'm working with a 5400rpm 40gb drive  and I really want a Seagate Barracuda 120gb 7200rpm drive :-| :) :D

Okay, then you know how to do it, yet you consciously decide not to while at the same time professing your intelligence. In my mind, that's stupider than pure inability to do it. :)
