Making an animated GIF

Postby Bushido Philosopher » Tue Feb 11, 2003 3:51 am

Maybe this should be in off-topic, but it's close enough to video since we're gonna be doing this in Premiere.

I've already tried making a GIF (more specifically on to be my avatar, but for some reason in Premiere the output screws up. I'm probably just doing something wrong.

So does anyone know a tutorial specifically for making a avatar animated GIF, or nice enough to tell me what to do?

I've never tried it in Premiere, but there are some relatively cheap programs specifically designed to take an avi and make an animated gif out of it- there's a page of share/free ware ones here.

Though I'd love to know how to do it in Premiere are well, if someone does know!

Premiere isn't a very good animated gif maker, to be honest.

Download paint shop pro from jasc - it comes with a program called Animation Studio which was used to make my avatar.

www.download.com and www.builder.com have programs that are relatively simple to make your own animated gif. Just click on their search engine and type in "animated gif" the program is extremely user friendly, you could work it if you were blind.
