Field order problems with certain dvds...

Postby Castor Troy » Wed May 19, 2010 2:27 am

I just acquired a dvd of the Dragon Ball Jump Special that aired in 2008 and ran into a field order problem.

Example

In fact, this isn't the only dvd that gives me this problem, I've had several other dvds do this to me and I've been editing in 23.98fps.

This is the only AVS script DGIndex gives me:

mpeg2source("D:\dvd\ripped\WJ40_DRAGONBALL\VIDEO_TS\dbjumpspecial.d2v",cpu=6)

Anything else I should add in the avs script to get rid of the interlacing?

Got it fixed with
AMVIVTC(mode=1)

I should have known the guides were updated. :P

Most Japanese DVDs that I used were actually almost 100% FILM (like 98 or 99%)... did you make sure it wasn't something you could Force FILM to begin with?
Also, cpu=6 is really intense, I'd be already surprised if any recent series (2006 or later) DVD (especially Japanese) would require cpu=2... if it really needs deblocking, then I'd still use deblock_qed anyway... but I guess that leaving cpu=0 would be safe.
PS: AMVIVTC(mode=1) still uses parameters that could be improved, in case your source wasn't almost FILM.
