Moby's "Flower"

Postby y2kwizard » Thu Jan 30, 2003 7:59 pm

Hey, all. Can anyone tell me the origin or meaning of "Flower" by Moby? It sounds like some sort of working song, perhaps plantation working? Just for all who don't nkow the lyrics, the following phrases are repeated many times:

"Green sally up
and green sally down
lift and squat
gotta tear the ground

old miss lucy's dead and gone
left me here to weep and moan"

Thanks for the info!
"When I got fat, I decided to grow a beard" -- The Great Andy
"Is it a DARTH visor?" and "It's funny cuz it's pants" -- The Master of on-the-spot Funniness
"You're too young for your age" and "I'm sorry for apologizing so much" -- The Master of on-the-spot Randomness

I've never heard the song but did I mention that I am seeing Moby in a two months, I'm pretty sure I did. If I didn't well, I am.

I wish I slept with more girls,
I wish you'd all go and get fucked."
