Beck, and why Beck sucks

Postby CaTaClYsM » Mon Jan 13, 2003 10:50 pm

because Beck only had 3 hits, all of which were shotlived, and one wasn't even really that good.

If your only criterion for quality is popularity, then you must think that McDonlads has the best food, Microsoft makes the best software, and that the best anime ever is a tossup between Dragon Ball Z and Yu-Gi-Oh!

You should know better than that. Have you ever listened to one of Beck's albums from start to finish? You might learn something.

Or your head will explode.

I agree Becks popularity was kind of average and I cant get into a groove with most of his stuff but I still listen to it for some reason. The only problem is it doesn't meen anything to me. I wouldn't say sicks but there is something missing.

Hey, those lyrics are from Men At Work, not Beck!

Just who the hell is Beck, anyway?

I actually liked the song "Loser" for some reason, but I'd have to agree. One song doesn't make up for anything. It's talentless garbage.

Thats debatable, just like Tom Greens comedy. Is it genious or just plain shit.

Note-
Anything is debatable.
Whether being subjective or objective.

As for Tom Green, it's slapstick puke, and takes no active brain activity to laugh at it, same with Jackass.

Exactly what I'm talking about, sometimes I feell that way but others I've seen it and thought "Man that was pure genious." Same with Beck. There is the thin line that these artists tread some people like Tom Green spend most of their time on the shit side but occasionally they do produce something that is incredibly gold. I feel Beck spends about 50-50 on either side.

Some people also thought that African American's were inferior species of human beings, and others thought that the Jews were evil and needed to be rid of. We're arguing subjectives here.

I think Beck was good for their time. But never made it because all their stuff wasn't groundbreaking enough, or never had anything different, or just, no one liked it. now, if anyone ever came up to me and told me that Tom Green was a brilliant man, I can't help but to naturally think "You're a fucking moron". There's a huge difference between someone saying music is brilliant, and saying comedy is brilliant. They're both too seperate things.

I know it is a matter of opinion, but the title of the thread provokes it really.
Also Becks new album was way different to his last it was a slow, deep album as opposed to crazy shit.
What exactly the huge differences between music and comedy,m I know they are not exactly the same but they are not worlds apart.

1) You suck.

2) Watch MTT's South Park video to that song...

3) You still suck.

4) What about "I've seen better days?"

Anyway, I like Beck, and he just put an album out recently, but it was a different style that I don't relate to. Oh well, his older stuff is good. What happened to Natalie Imbru- nah, I can't spell it, IM-BROO-GLEE-UH?
