Postby Pseven21 » Tue May 13, 2008 8:32 pm

Explosions in the Sky
- Six Days At The Bottom Of The Ocean
- The Birth And Death Of The Day
- Your Hand In Mine
- First Breath After Coma

This Will Destroy You
- I Believe In Your Victory
- The World is Our _____
- Quiet
- Threads

All of these songs by these aritsts are awsome. Some are like 8 minutes long, but its worth listening to every second of the song. Great listening to these long songs wihle studying, typing, interneting or just sleeping.
I'd like to know names of more awsome instrumental bands, or songs. So please give me some names.

I love post-rock and instrumental songs.

- I'll add this bands to the list.

- Goodspeed you black emperor!

- Sigur Ros.

- The dandy warhols. (Sleep)

- Piano magic.

There are another artists very interesting:

Emancipator - Soon will be cold enough
I recommend you all to get this album, is just awesome. Electronic ambiental trip-hop. The most surprising thing is that the composer is a 19 years old boy.

Balmorhea - River arms
Ambiental music using piano, violin and guitar, awesome too.

The best soundtrack i listened in my life is:

The thin red line OST by Hans Zimmer, always i listen to it i feel like floating in the ocean.
He also made the OST of Gladiator, The Last Samurai...

There are many composers with a great works behind, like Michael Nyman (The piano, Gattaca, The claim); Carter Burwel(Conspiracy, Rob roy) Danny elfam (Edward scissorhands, Black beauty, The kingdom)

PD: I just listened an album called Eingya by Helios, >> beautiful.

Gordian Knot - Jazzy and progressive. Bassist Sean Malone (Cynic) masterminds this project, and there's very little that's better as far as just listening goes.

Dysrhythmia - Not really relaxing at all, but cool and challenging. You may have a hard time getting into it, or you might not. I'll just say that their name really does say it all.

Liquid Tension Experiment - Dream theater with a different Bassist (Tony Levin of King Crimson fame) playing all instrumental songs. I see your eight minutes and raise you sixteen or more (if you string all of Three Minute Warning together, it comes out to something like twenty eight minutes, it was split because the original master ran out of tape while they were playing, and Portnoy had to splice in his personal recording for it).

Also, to note, Savatage (from which the Trans Siberian Orchestra was formed) played a version of "In The Hall of the Mountain King" called "Prelude to Madness", and they also wrote a song called "In The Hall of the Mountain King", which had lyrics.

Much of what this guy said. I would really like to stress Caspian as they have released some really epic stuff since they formed...

Also adding to it....

Jakob
Pelican
Joy Wants Eternity (One of the best I have heard in a long time.)
Souvenir's Young America
Signal Hill
From The Sky

Lots of good stuff on this thread. Got to add Enduser to the list - he's not exclusively instrumental but has lots of awesome instrumental songs.

I also like some of Charlie Clouser's instrumentals, like the Resident Evil OST tracks he composed.
