-Saw both the Pillows (tour semifinal) and Ellegarden (tour final) in the last three weeks, each played 20+ song sets.

-Won the right to buy tickets for Countdown Japan, Dec 28th-31st. If there's a Japanese band you've ever listened to and liked it's probably on that list, with more TBA.

-Getting a backstage/photo pass to the Mae show in February, that should be awesome. I'm trying to get one for the Shins next Monday, but I don't know if I'll pull it off with this little time.

Also I wanna plug my live photography just 'cause.

I just took my girl and my brother and his girl to see Maroon 5 (they all had their birthdays recently, and I know they all wanted to go). Concert was pretty good. The Hives were exceptionally entertaining, possibly the highlight of the night.

Unfortunately, I won't be. Decapitated's drummer Vitek died due to severe injuries from a car crash.

It's a shame that happened, R.I.P Brutha. Long live Metal \m/

I saw Aphothic Dawn on saturday night, new band that consists of members from Sclera and Ne'Obliviscarus, what amazing shit, since everyone knew who they were everyone was head banging and getting involved, their playing again this saturday night. I know where i'll be.
Oh and got tix to Amon Amarth and their Janurary Australia tour, can't wait for this shit, its going to go off!

My 2nd favorite band, the veteran Russian rockers DDT, are coming to North America in January, specifically Toronto on the 23rd. I'm so there

Hmm. Why, on their main page, does it say "Unfortunately, the concerts planned for the beginning of this year in Canada and the U.S.will not take place"?

Because you're reading their English page, which talks about the cancelled North American tour in early 2006. It's not updated very often, plus the update just came out the other day. Besides, why would they be talking about "this" year if we're still in 2007?

If you look at the Russian version, it's got the five dates there. It's also confirmed by a number of sites elsewhere. Gonna try and get those tickets soon :P

Yeah, you're right, I'm stupid. But I'm pretty sure if I look at the Russian version, I won't see much of anything.

So fuck DDT for not catering to my lack of multilinguilism.

Don't worry though, they won't be playing anywhere near you (they're only doing LA, SF, NY, Chicago and Toronto).

And haha, wow. What is this - good news about live concert plans day?

As I just told Flint, my 1st favorite band, King Crimson, has announced plans for a 4-day residency at Chicago's Park West next august.

What's more, KC is getting a new fifth member, and who should it be but the drummer from what's quickly becoming my 3rd favorite band Porcupine Tree, Gavin Harrison?

Oh man. I am a happy music fan today

So as not to let Oto have all the fun, Dream Theater, Opeth, and 3 are going to be touring (together) in April/May of this year.

I will be there at any cost.

This I have not heard.

Likewise, if they're anywhere near Ottawa/Montreal/Toronto, I am totally going!

I don't see a bunch of Japanese bands on there that I like ...

(Though to be fair I'm not sure if the boredoms are still preforming, I know OOIOO is though...And I'm not sure about Guitar Wolf now that Bass Wolf Died ;_;)

The Polysics are ok and Doping panda are pretty cool though...

I was kinda hoping to see Merzbow he is awesome

Merzbuddha is such a great album

Anywho This thread is making me sad I havn't been to any concerts recently at all... I miss going...

Though Luckily I was able to at least see Kraftwerk Once ... (First time in Canada in 18 years) man that was a totally mindblowingly awesome show.

I haven't been to any shows recently. It's kinda hard when the few bands I want to see don't usually come closer than toronto, and it's a GIGANTIC pain to get tickets and find a ride to get there, since It's somewhere around a 2 and a half hour drive there. Plus, nobody shares my taste in music.
