Weirdest (Or most horrible) cover songs you have ever heard.

The weirdest cover song I have ever heard is Brittany Spears' "Oops I Did It Again" done by a Finnish Death Metal band called Children of Bodom. The sad part about is, they make it sound better than the original! I think the guys in C.O.B. must've been drunk in the studio:)

Wow A topic in General music thats not specifically about Metal.

And a topic that is almost specifically geared towards me.

Man

Weird Covers

Well I like The Masters of Gregorian Chants Cover of Stairway to Heaven
Also in the Stairway to heaven Category Venetian snares did a bad ass cover.

Ten Masked Men Is a growly Metal band that does covers of people like micheal Jackson and Britney Spears.

I think the most unique cover album I have ever heard was Señior Coconut (A Mariachi Band of sorts) did a cover of Kraftwerk using their steel drums maracas and all.

some of my favorite covers include
Rocket Man - Wiliam Shatner
I believe I can Fly - William Hung

thats all i can think of right now.

ok, the most horrible cover is Poison by Groove Coverage. Alice Cooper would turn over in his grave.... oh, he's still alive

Can't remember the name of the band, but they did an acoustic/emo cover of Hey Ya. All I can say is, "Worst. Cover. EVER."

As we're also going for weird here,

The cover of "Head Like A Hole" that Devo recorded.
"Stayin' Alive" as performed by Ozzy Osbourne with Dweezil Zappa - complete with "I am disco man" sound clip.
"Dream Weaver", covered by Crowbar
Laibach's version of the theme from Jesus Christ Superstar
"They're Coming To Take Me Away", covered by Lard
"Da Ya Think I'm Sexy?" and "Physical", both covered by Revolting Cocks
"Borderline", performed by Nivek Ogre (under whatever moniker he actually used on the CD) for the Virgin Voices tribute album, which also featured KMFDM covering "Material Girl"

A couple which played it fairly close to the original:
Gene Simmons' version of "Firestarter"
Mandy Moore's rendition of "Senses Working Overtime"

Or just plain embarrassing:
A Teens did a cover of "School's Out" with Alice Cooper

And one case where the original version is the weird one, and the cover is more normal-sounding:
"Am I In Sync?" - originally performed by Steve Taylor, covered by Circle Of Dust

Me First and the Gimmie Gimmies Covered that song as well ... (I have that album on vynal)

But I still like william Hungs version better.

Also I can't believe i forgot to Mention Hurrah Torpedo's cover of total eclipse of the heart.

for me that's one of the best (non metal) cover versions ever.
Anyway, Laibach's "Jesus Christ Superstars" is one of my favorites
