Peter Gabriel...need I say more? I think not!

Flipper? The Bevis Frond? The Swans? Sonic Youth? Husker Du? The Flamig Lips? The Meat Puppets? Negativland?

Not that I have anything against Peter Gabriel... Heck, I'm rather fond of him.

Excellent! I love their songs too! (Heh, even made a video to one of their songs). Though I think US only had a very limited exposure to their albums. :(

I'll also add U2, Dire Straits, Deacon Blue and REM. Even if they all sound kinda un-80's-ish. But I love 80's pop stuff too. :D

I think Heart was an 80's band. And I think Tom Petty was making music in the 80's. Other than that, I can't think of a damn thing.

Can't forget personal computers. Sure they were kind of around in the 70s, but the 80s were like *boom boom boom*.

Hmmmm... Sonic Youth, New Order, or My Bloody Valentine for me. Too difficult to pick just one though.

My knowledge of Peter Gabriel is embarrassing. Embarassingly small.

Oh yeah, MBV was tops! I usually don't think bands should "re-unite", but i would step over my own mother to see them again.

I only know one of their songs. :\

"Give a little bit of heart and soul,
Give a little bit of love to grow,
Give a little bit of heart and soul,
Now don'tcha baby beg for more..."

or something like that. I always thought that song would make a good AMV.

the cure
So in other words, one part of the community is waging war on another part of the community because they take their community seriously enough to want to do so. Then they tell the powerless side to get over the loss cause it's just an online community. I'm glad people make so much sense." -- Tab
