I'll repeat my point again: even in the world where most of everything is crap (as it surely is, at ANY given time) - there is so much good, worthwhile music out there, that a sane person can't possibly have enough time to listen to it all. It's all a matter of searching.

Because I listen to a lot of stuff that kicks ass, and I don't pay attention to what everyone's going after. I don't chase the trends... and only people who do really feel like music is completely shit now adays.
You obviously don't regularly get stuck on two hour+ road trips where the driver sometimes (or often) listens to "mainstream radio bullshit."

That's why I have CDs, and leave my Sirius on Hair Nation (for when I'm borred and can't spare the attention to change CDs). And actually, I find myself driving for roughly 8-10 hours on a bi-weekly basis (yay for living four and a half hours away from home).

Once I can get off my Pain of Salvation kick, I might even be able to recommend some bands for you. Current bands that are still making good music you might be able to like.

It may sound retarded to some, but perhaps the connoisseurs will understand: I can not stand the music. I have to be really, really drunk to willingly be within a half-mile radius of a noise pollution device dispensing standard-issue Popsa
