Need a spiritual female voice kind of song

Postby Bushido Philosopher » Sat Dec 14, 2002 1:13 am

It' s little hard to explain, but I need a song with female vocals that sound a little spiritual.

Examples of this ind of style would be the Apollo 13 movie end theme, or the Gladiator movie theme, or maybe the orb menu screen for Devil May Cry (PS2).

All of them have that odd female voice just going "ooooooo" or something like that.

Thanks for any suggestions.

The hymn from FFX, but it's not too long. I think it's called The Sending. but it's only a minute and a half. and it has a choir effect too.

I had more.... :x damnit I can't think of them.

"Violet's Dance" by Collide.
"Poppæa" by Theatre Of Tragedy, although there is a male vocalist in the background.
"Dollhouse" by Switchblade Symphony might work, too.

Try 'em!

I suppose I should also mention "Silver Rain" by L'ame Immortelle and "The Inferno" by Emma Shapplin.

Chrono Cross strike again, the theme for the second to last boss battle with the combined forms of the dragons gods. They sound like they are saying words but the voices and sound are so vauge they cannot be made out, tell me if that is the kind of song you are looking for and if I am on the right track.

The end theme for Metal Gear Solid "The Best Is Yet To Come" is pretty good.

Lyrics in English (the song is in Gaelic):

Do you remember the time
When little things made you happy
Do you remember the time
When simple things made you smile
Life can be wonderful
If you let it be
Life can be simple
If you try

Whatever happened to those days?
Whatever happened to those nights?

Do you remember the time
When little things made you sad?

Do you remember the time
When simple things made you cry?

Is it just me
Or
Is it just us

Feeling lost in this world?

Why do we have to hurt each other?
Why do we have to shed tears?

Life can be beautiful
If you try

Life can be joyful
If we try

Tell me
I'm not alone

Tell me
We are not alone in this world
Fighting against the wind

Do you remember the time
When simple things made you happy

Do you remember the time
When little things made you laugh

You know
Life can be simple

You know
Life is simple

Because
The best thing in life is yet to come

Because...
The best is yet to come

Likewise a tune in Gaelic called "Cuaigh Me Na Rossan" by Scartaglen, on the Narada Celtic Odyssey.

Lyrics (taken from the Irish version by Clannad):

I went on a visit to the Rosann And looked towards the sky
And around the northern islands
Like a deer being followed by a dog
Everyone at the bay would say
On seeing me down by the quay
"I can see clearly by your sadness
That you are a man being chased."

I met a beautiful young woman
But she spoke sharply
'If you are a man who is engaged to a young woman
I do not praise your trade
I saw a man on the mainland
Walking without shoes yesterday
I think you are the young man
That you are being chased."

We became tired and sad
And I asked the gentlewoman
"Where will we get a drink
That would lift the sadness from our hearts?"
"There is a little house by the road
and they always keep a drop
go and knock on the table
and you will not pay a penny."

I wasn't long making music
Before many came to the house
Every man with a glass in his hand
To congratulate the couple
Spirits were widely available
There was much drinking
And if I pulled O'Donnell's gallon
My score would easily be settled.

I happened to go into the pub
And I was nervous to sit down
In case the chase would come
And the young woman would be taken from me
When we found everything was as it should be
And I thought I should sit down
She said, "Make music
And you will not pay a penny."

When we relieved our tiredness with sadness
The young woman asked me
"Where do you live during the day
When you do not have a house of your own?"
"I spend some time in the pub
I do not place importance on money
The amount I earn during the day
I spend on enjoyment at night."

ok, looks like every post is going farther from the original idea....

i have nothing against what you're trying to post, but consider what i'm looking for at least....

Well, it's not female as it's the Harlem Boys' Choir, but there's a track on the Glory soundtrack that has exactly what you want (the wordless "ooOOOoooooOOoooo") thing.
