Paul Westerberg is the former lead singer and guitarist of alternative rock legends "The Replacements". I've been in an alternative rock mood alot over the past few weeks, and Paul is one of the artists I'm currently interested in. How did I not get into Paul's work in the past? This is good stuff! I remember back when I saw the "Bastards of Young" video for the first time ever on VH1 Classic in 2002, I thought it was so stupid! Seriously, if I wanted to sit and stare at a speaker the whole time, I'll stare at one of my stereo speakers while listening to music. Anyway, Paul's solo career started off in 1992 (well I heard that the last Replacements album (1990's "All Shook Down") was actually a Paul solo album other than a band album) when he recorded two songs for the movie "Singles". His first official solo album was 1993's "14 Songs", and the song "World Class Fad", which is a great song was an alternative rock radio hit, and it got MTV airplay if I'm not mistaken, but the album failed to break him into the mainstream. I'm still a new fan of Paul's so I don't really have a "favorite songs" list yet.
