I've watched another couple of suggestions.
Flint the Dwarf: I downloaded your "Consequences of War"
AMV. I didn't see the other one because you mentioned
it's instrumental and therefore it cannot be what I was
asking about (story-driven lyrics).
I didn't enjoy the video very much, mostly because the music
isn't to my liking and I found the middle discourse somewhat
jarring. Judging the video objectively, however, I can tell
you put a lot of effort into it and the timings, transitions and
choice of scenes are very good. I also like that you had
something to say in your AMV regarding the futility of war
(hope I got it right :)
Although you follow the lyrics pretty closely ("blood is on
our hands", "chains that bind", etc) it's still a song about
the nature of war in general, not about any particular
event within a war. There really isn't a story there.
Orwell: well... it was interesting. It's a well-made parody,
but there's no narrative whatsoever. So, doesn't qualify :)
I mentioned in a previous post "Don't stand so close to me".
Here's an AMV which attempts what I'm talking about:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CHsaq18yQY0
(I don't know if the silly word filter will mess up the link,
this AMV is not on the org and banning the mention of
you-tube is downright stupid when trying to have a legit
discussion of material not available locally).
The video isn't very good, but the first half sort of succeeds
at what I'm asking for. The second half falls apart and the
story is not fulfilled to its conclusion, but the first couple
of minutes kinda hold it together, save for the obvious
fact that all the awkward onus is on the student and none
on the teacher. The scene in the car is a pretty fortunate
match.
I really appreciate your suggestions so far!
