How exactly do you qualify "redeeming"? I'd like to see you define it such a way that it applies to every other genre and solely excludes rap. I don't see how any music is redeeming in any way other than that it appeals to a person's tastes.

Mix that with the sounds of beating a horse that'd had a blender stuck half way up its ass and you've got death metal :P

Um..Ok, AMVwizard, I checked your profile, and you're sitting on here making your opinion on rap known, but you use Usher's "Burn" in a Fruits Basket AMV......... :|

Ok. I for one am a person that does not really enjoy rap or country, but I do have to agree that they are both forms of music. As far as Rap taking no talent. Have you ever seen that episode of MADE with that kid that wanted to be a rapper?

It took some serious training to make him sub-par, and as far as the comment about your sister being able to do that stuff on the computer.

Umm, excuse me, but that's mixing, and though it shows up in some rap songs, it in itself is not rap, it is mixing, at which point if we followed your train of thought 90% of the Dance music that is out there is not considered music.

I'm not claiming to be a music expert or anything, but all the stuff you're attributing to rap music is more the work of a really great publicist.

If you ever get the chance, find a live music club that features local bands and artists, cough up the 12 bucks for a cover charge and go listen to some real music.

Granted, it's not all good, but it's a great way to tell real music and talent
from overhyped PR business.
And I thought nobody read these.

Last time I checked, Usher isn't a rapper.

I was just making the general comment about the amv match-up, and though he may not rap full-time, he does rap in some of his music, oh-well.

I said I don't listen to it, and that I'm not a music expert.
And I thought nobody read these.

Just 'cause he's black doesn't mean he raps.

Anyway, Usher, amvwizard? And you dare criticize any musical genre? Let's see what other mounds of talent lie in your AMVs... Fallout Boy, Simple Plan, Ja Rule, Blink 182, Destiny's Child, and Linkin Park.

That is a positive gold mine of over-produced, cookie cutter, commercialized garbage. Congratulations, you've passed Hypocricy 101.
