the fact that you put those 2 bands in the same sentance disturbs me.

Wait, no I definetly meant Foo Fighters, sorry about that! My brain had a momentary lapse of judgement this morning. ^_^

Despite how different each of the 3 bands ae, the foo fighters and nirvanah I like, the only song of the goo goo dolls that I like is Iris, and I don't even like that song all that much.

Ive recently bought my first Nirvana CD (the new best of collection) and I've found them to be quite alright, I'm not a fan of Foo Fighters though, I've just never really got into their gear but never-the-less I will be seeing when they come out here next year.[/url]

Eh, my stepdad just found out that you can download music videos off of Kazaa, and he has all of these Nirvana videos. And International Noise Consipiracy. He likes them, but I think they are a little to weird.

Nirvana: Halfway-inbetween being a casual and a hardcore fan. I got Nevermind, Unplugged, and In Utero. I was disappointed with In Utero, and still think it to be mediocre, but the other two are great.

Foo Fighters: BIG fan. I actually like them a little more than Nirvana. Got all four of their albums, and I'd list them from best to least-best in this order: The Colour and the Shape, Foo Fighters, One By One, There is Nothing Left To Lose. Bit of a cliche to say it, but "Everlong" is my favorite song of theirs. Off One By One, my favorite is either "All My Life" or "Times Like These". "Come Back" and "Lonely as You" also rank high.

Goo Goo Dolls: Got sorta bored with them after "Iris", but I liked that song a lot. It was just about my favorite song when it was popular.

I fail to see the use for a quote there, it seemed like a different line of discussion from what I said.
International Noise Conspiracy are alright but since the sudden outburst of similar music I've stopped having an interest in them as they aren't that different anymore.

If you're dad digs the noise conspiracy, tell him to DL some videos by Refused. That's Denis, the singer from (I)NC's old, and much better band. Refused is seriously one of the most important rock bands of our age. Definetly get him to check out some videos.

Nirvana - godly
Foo Fighters - eh, not my thing

Yes, it was sad when Refused broke up. The Shape of Punk to Come and Songs to Fan the Flames of Discontent are awesome albums.

I used to love Nirvana. When I first got Nevermind I was a Junior in Highschool, and I really felt that the philosophy Kurt was expressing in his music was that life was fucked regardless of things, but you just push along regarless. Maybe he was saying that, maybe he wasn't saying that...I don't know. But after Kurt killed himself I lost respect for the man and his music...I was pretty dispondant over the whole thing as I was in the midst of life crisis and here was a guy I thought represented something important to me, and it turns out that he obviously didn't. I pondered over it all for about two days, then I took my Nirvana collection, broke the CDs and hucked them in the trash. I haven't purposefully listened to Nirvana since then.

I love Goo Goo Dolls. "Iris" is one of my favourite songs.

Nirvana is a different matter. I do not really like their music.

I just hit 'quote' instead of scrolling up to hit 'reply,' but I forgot to delete your message. Sorry!

I once had a sort of liking for Nirvana, but the radio still overplays the most popular singles off of their CDs. I just got sick of them. Maybe I need an actual CD or theirs, so I can listen to the songs that aren't always played (those end up being the best most of the time, anyway). "You Know You're Right," off of their new best of CD, is really good. I guess I'm not sick of it yet :) As for the Foo Fighters, I'm sort of a passing fan. Don't own any of their albums, but I know the lyrics to some of their songs :D
