OH S**T! VH1 CLASSIC SAID MY NAME ON THE AIR!

Postby RamonesFan2020204 » Fri Dec 16, 2005 5:02 pm

Today was the day that my request was played on VH1 Classic, and at the beginning, they said my name!!!!! I was in SUCH a state of shock! I couldn't believe it! I requested Roger Daltrey's "After The Fire", and I tape the whole hour. I'm still shocked!!!!!!!! I've never had my name read on national television before until today!!!!

After the fire the fire still burns
The heart grows older but never ever learns
The memories smoulder and the soul always yearns
After the fire the fire still burns

I heard a voice asking what happens after the fire
And then the sound of a breaking window and the scream of a tyre
And then the sound of a distant gun and the cry of a hungry child
The night is hot
But nothing's gonna stop
This gang going wild

After the fire the fire still burns
The heart grows older but never ever learns
The memories smoulder and the soul always yearns
After the fire the fire still burns

I saw Matt Dillon in black and white there ain't no colour in memories
He rode his brother's Harley across the TV while I was laughing at Dom deLuise.
Now I'm cycling all my video tapes, I'm crying and I'm joking
I've gotta stop drinking
I've gotta stop thinking
I've gotta stop smoking

After the fire the fire still burns
The heart grows older but never ever learns
The memories smoulder and the soul always yearns
After the fire the fire still burns

The fire still burns, raging through the pain
Blackening the promises the tears and the rain
The fire will burn
'Til the wind begins to turn
And it all begins again

After the fire the fire still burns
The heart grows older but never ever learns
The memories smoulder and the soul always yearns
After the fire the fire still burns

The fire still burns....
The fire still burns....

After the fire the fire still burns
The heart grows older but never ever learns
The memories smoulder and the soul always yearns
After the fire the fire still burns

Love this song so much!!!!!

Erm, okay. I don't know about you, but when they say your name on national TV for the first time ever, it's usually really thrilling. This isn't something that happens all the time for average every day people like us. This kinda thing only happens once in a blue moon.

And if it ever happened to me, you had better believe I would be taking it to my Opendiary, not posting in a public forum that doesn't have a place for off-topicness like this.

How? Sure I would want the world to know about it, but that wouldn't change the fact that this forum isn't the place for talking about our personal lives. Heck, this site even provides us with our own journals.

I actually had a moment like that, sort of, when a response to a posting by this pseudonim of mine (Otohiko) appeared in a diary by my favorite musician, which was also nice.

I posted about it on the .org later, but I turned it into a thread about other people's experiences of meaningful and rational contact (not "lol autographs, inherent and delineated lol") with their favorite musicans - which was much more discussable and didn't end up in too much bragging.

Don't listen to them, RF2020204. They're just insanely jealous of your incredible ability to exploit the media into giving your name immortal and national... no... WORLDWIDE recognition. You are a genius beyond all geniuses in the ways of publicity. I acknowledge everything I say, and I'm not being sarcastic at all. I'll back you up until the end of time, and even smack God up if he dares speak out against your endearing status as a television icon.

Years from now, when I'm dying of mental atrophy, I'll look back on my life and say "Yes! I knew RamonesFan2020204, and he was truly a GOD among men!" I capitalized GOD to show that I mean serious business as merely writing it out in lower case letters would only diminish your true qualities. I worship you now and forever.

And as for these guys... they have nothing better to do than talk you down from the immortal heavens you now inhabit.

Thanks requiett, but don't smack God up. We don't want that. God is the good guy. But still, thanks a bunch! And you're right! They're just jealous, and they have nothing better to do. These fuckers need to get a life.
