Creed, Metallica, Misfits, In Flames, Dido, Avril Lavigne are some that works very well with AMVs.
Some of them u think "uuh...sucks". But they're very good if u manage to implent them in an AMV in special ways!

Not a single one of those bands is J-rock. J-rock is Japanese rock, not whiney english stuff. :?

Whoops Sorry for the Double post..., But...As for AMV material... it's possible and I'd like to see someone challenge themselves, but it would be really difficult...

Though I did see a Boredoms AMV with NGE that was awesome....

so anythings possible.

I posted a long time ago, but i have more to add!

Again, i have a huge liking for Plastic Tree, so i'll bring that back up again. I also think that L'Arc~en~Ciel, P'unk~en~Ciel, Dir en grey, +D'espairsray+, Merry, Kagrra, Alice9, Pierrot, Psycho le Cemu, PIA, SID, Gazette, Miyavi, Rentrer en Soi, MUCC, Luvie, Gifuto, Baroque, Kagerou, LUNA SEA, Orange Range, Panic*CH, and maybe even Gackt would make good AMVs! XP (i listen to too much Jmusic)

I've seen some good things using T.M. Revolution

I'd have to listen to more of her music, but I think Nami Tamaki could be good for amvs...

My favorite right now is Yoko Kanno...not really a band, but her music is so good! examples include opening + closing themes for Cowboy Bebop, Ghost in the Shell (Stand Alone Complex [1st gig]) opening theme, and RahXephon opening theme
I'd really like to get my hands of some of her music...

Umm..Nami Tamaki and Yoko Kanno are considered Jpop, not Jrock. Oh, and though i love T.M.Revolution to death, they aren't Jrock, they're JTechno, just like Echostream is, and a few other groups (though Echostream seems to always choose to sing in English or most English..well..in the 3 songs i have..but i know they are JTechno, which alot of people choose to just put Jpop and call it quits on that.. > >)

Btw, did you know there are 5 versions of READY STEADY GO? There's the Hyde version(original), the Hydeless version, the Ken version, the Tetsu version, and the Hiro version. Personally, i think the Ken version sounds the funniest, lol.

Also, i like more than just READY STEADY GO by Laruku, i like Dive to Blue (which would make a GREAT AMV *jots that down to keep in mind*), Coming Closer, REVELATION, and much more! *needs to get their new album* XP

Dir en grey, all time fav but then again, I think it would take a pretty good editor to tailer footage to a dir en grey song

It wouldn't be that hard.. Just use something like Marmalade Chainsaw or Red.. It shouldn't be too hard then... I just wouldn't worry too much about following the meaning of the lyrics because that would take you forever to figure out... I've been trying to figure out the meaning to the lyrics of Marmalade Chainsaw, even though i know the translation...forever... > <

I'd say.... Something by Ruins

cause if you can make a video go with a Ruins song then surely it must be good.

...... i was going to try and make a video to a Bondage Fruit song..but i stopped.

dont know why.

I used GLAY's survival to FLCL, you can find it here. Edited in Vegas, encoded in WMV so I could upload it to my Infoseek.co.jp account. I never went back and make a final edit to it though and was one of my first AMVs. GLAY seems easy to use for AMVs.

I tried DAI to Phantom Quest Corp, and it didn't work out at all.

The problem with using Jmusic to AMVs is the language gap. If the audience has no clue what the song is about, the video will flop.

Using the pillows to FLCL is bad because the pillows is featured in FLCL thus there isn't much of a challenge to the video (that goes for any anime soundtrack to its anime counterpart). IMO.

Anyway, you can grab my vid here: http://www.animemusicvideos.org/members ... hp?v=14923
