What do you mean? I'm searching for a song like I explained when I opened this thread, because I need it for a new AMV-Project... I have the footage, but I couldn't find a song for it...

John Parr - St. Elmo's Fire (Man In Motion)

Kind of surprised no one mentioned it already.

Within Tempation - See Who I Am (combined with Intro)
Koreana - Hand in Hand

The latter isn't very strong coz the song is more about getting ppl to live in harmony, but the chorus part really upped my spirit.

Wait, are you looking for lyrics about saving the world or instrumentals or who-what now?

No lyrics: Mussorgsky, "Pictures At an Exhibition"
I think the finale and the second-to-last bit were the really moving parts. Trust the Russians to give you such as this.

I don't care how band-geeky it is. I will always be greatly moved by my old marching band show music.

And I Wanna Be There by Blessed Union of Souls has great personal significance to me, so it can always move me to tears.

But non-personal moving songs? Ummm... I guess I would have to say Open Up Your Mind from Saiyuki. I'm not a big fan of that show, per se, but I can't help but be moved by the song.

Oh, I forgot to mention my top pick.

A.V. Alexandrov / S.V. Mikhalkov - The Soviet National Anthem.

Seriously 8-)

Some songs that strike a chord with me:

-'Ikutsu Mono Ai Wo Kasanete' - Akira Senju (Victory Gundam OST)
-'No One But You' - Queen
-'Into The West' - Annie Lennox (even more so since this summer, but that's a story for another time.)
and
-'The Show Must Go On' - Queen

(There's likely others I'll remember later, but at the moment, these are the ones coming to mind)

Its not the most powerfull -ever- but imho, this song would be way up there, when I decyphered the lyrics and heard the song, I shed a tear each time I heard this verse.

SoulDrainer - Everything Ends
~ It talks about suicide and the relationship between that and the afterlife (It doesn't get religous), this for example really touched me.
"No need to say goodbye" ~I won't be there to listen.
"No need to .. pray" ~ This is not an option.
"Standing around me, look into my eye, my removal has begun, no need to speak my name"

The score to Aleksandr Nevsky by Prokofiev.

Nessun Dorma by Puccini.
