I had completely forgotten that song, but yes that's a great one!

And now that you mentioned Pink Floyd, "One of These Days" is almost instrumental, and I love that song.

And then there's Michael Nyman's "The Heart Asks," and Rimsky-Korsakov's "Flight of the Bumblebee." There are many more, but I can't think of them all.

I'm a big fan of anything off the Amelie soundtrack. Yann Thiersen is incredible! Also, Ashley MacIsaac plays a mean fiddle and has some pretty amazing instrumentals (when he opens his mouth is the problem). His is a style called Cape Breton - a Maritimes provinces version of Celtic music. The most readily available stuff is on the Due South soundtracks.

Jupiter by Gustav Holst

Such an awesome piece of music, Mars is pretty good too. A lot of tracks off of the Now and Then, Here and There anime series are really great as well.

I would HARDLY call Theatre of Pain instrumental. Hansi sings on that one plenty ; P Not that it isn't a good song, though, one of my favorites off of Somewhere Far Beyond.

Personally... I like Dream Theater's Instrumedley. Their instrumental songs all tied up into one flowing masterpiece. I also like TSO's A Mad Russian's Christmas and The Silent Nutcracker.

Hey, Darius also recommended Ashes of the Coming Dawn as the best instrumental for the VCAs.

I know I already listed 5 Songs but there are a few I left out.

Dark Tranquillity -Ex nihilo
Nightrage -Solus
Kitaro -Beyond

Mine would have to be
Incantation and Dance- John Barnes Chance (I'm pretty sure that's his name)
Mars- Gustav Holst (played it for concert band and absolutley fell in love with it)
Requiem for a Dream I love these songs so much.

By far the best for me is Bach's Cello Suite #1, performed by yo-yo ma

but then again as far as no lyrics go, there's Cure For The Itch by Linkin Park and A Warm Place by Nine Inch Nails
