that's not that harsh...
It's taken from Iron Maiden's song "The Clansman" which was was released with the album "Virtual XI"in 1998.

The text goes on with:
"Not alone with a dream
Just a want to be free
With a need to belong
I am a clansman...Freedom"

and before your chosen part lies:
"When alone on the hills
With the wind in your hair
With a longing to feel
Just to be free"

St. Anger, off Metallica's album of the same name.

Mine is...

Confusion gone, it's in your hands
Your turn to ask why"

Alrighty, here goes my second try, hope it will be acknoledged this time, wolfwood

The song is called "A moment of clarity", was written by Death and was published with the album "The Sound of Perseverance" in 1998

To make everything sure, the text before the chosen part goes like:
"Look beyond, what vision lets me see
time after time, unneeded misery
holding tight to my dreams
I own no price for you
I grip them tight and hope for sight."

And then there is:
"Life is like a mystery
with many clues, but with few anwers
to tell us what it is that we can do to look
for messages that keep us from the truth"

Nice band though!

and here goes an original one:

The band Opeth, known for its deep progressive death metal, published in 2000 a very important album regarded as one of the best they ever made.

However, on this album they worked with a new producer who also plays in a certain Progressive Rock band.

Name the new producer of Opeth, the band in which he plays plus the name of the album which was released in 2000 by Opeth (not too tough to handle).

*Hint: After this producer debuted, the vocals sometimes sound as if they were sung through a telephone.

Steven Wilson of Porcupine Tree/No-Man/Blackfield/a bunch of other projects produced Opeth's 2001 record "Blackwater Park". He also produced their 2002/2003 albums "Deliverance" and "Damnation." (despite them being recorded at the same time, their label at the time, Music For Nations, didn't want to release both at the same time.)

Speaking of Opeth:

Who was their first bass player? Hint: It's not their current one.

I think it is supposed to be Jocke Horney who founded the band together with Mikael Akerfeldt, Anders Nordin and Nick Döring...

Yup, it's Doring. I thought I saw in the Lamentations documentary that their first bass player was Peter, but I guess not.

Oh my Gosh!

Geez peoples.

The answer was: during their first year as a band in 1992 the original guitarist, Tom Wisnieski, wore a very loud plaid shirt. The other members really liked and came up with "Magnified Plaid" as their new band name. Yuri, the drummer, at one point made band t - shirts to distribute to their fans and abreviated the name with "x"s instead of periods. The shirts now read "M x P x". Mike thought that sounded better and suggested it to be their new name. From then on, this punk trio made their way into the world known as MxPx.

I think I merit an award of some sort for stumping all you people who couldn't solve this "mystery". :) I mean, when was the last time no one knew the answer to a post on this forum for a whole month and running?
