wow, i really hope ur not an amv creator, if u cant open your mind to all ideas, and all styles of music, including rap, then u have no bisness in amvs.

In fact ppl like you are part of the reason to make rap amvs. To piss ppl like you off.

Im not against any form, style or music inside an amv, so why should arseholes like you be.

And until you open your mind to everything, all of your amvs will be s#!t on the bottom of shoes.
Oh god, that black dude with the afro is always making those damn trash ass music hip hop amvs...he needs to do something with techno or rock....
.......as if I would do something like that.

If you're saying that you don't like hearing rap in the anime itself, (like the openning theme to One Piece, the Pokerap, hearing a character bust a freestyle, etc.), then I would be inclined to somewhat agree with you.

But, if you're saying that you don't want rap music in an AMV, then you seriously need open your mind to all ideas that are put into AMVs. If this is the case, then I have another reason to make more rap AMVs, and that is to piss people like you the fuck off.

I personally like rap music to be in AMV's its mostly what I listen to. Making a rap AMV is hard to pull off and I respect any1 who can do it. I'm thinking about doing an AMV to Ghetto Boyz "Balls and my Word" but they don't really rap in it and its more of a dj song but its still a pretty good song. Does anybody have anything in particular to say about the song?

Personally I'm not a big rap fan, but I found that I enjoyed some of Dragon Ash's songs. I guesse the main reason for this was that the song's were in Japanese, so it didn't matter what he was singing about, since I can't understand Japanese. I just liked the songs because they had a good beat and you could listen to them without having to worry about anything, such as any swearing which I found common in most of the english rap songs that i've heard. (Yes I know that there are good songs out there too) I've also been watching Samurai Champloo, so I decided to mix my new favorite show with some Dragon Ash and I made my second AMV Gangsta Samurai
Try it trash! I'll return the pain a thousand times over!

WTF ???

Postby didrox » Sun Jul 17, 2005 10:09 am

all this about rap ???
come on rap is just a type of music . you have bands like the streets, like Catatonik said that sound like its not rap at all . you have Linkin park that is 1/2 rap, Limp Bizkit 1/2 rap , i even here slipknot rappin in their own way ...dude you even have pop prince justin timberlake trying to rap. come on ...
only thing about rap in a AMV is that its more words and the AMV will be more lyrics orriented. im a white 17 year old guy that hangs out wit alot of people (black , white , fat , skinny , chicks , guys, ass holes , nice guys) and once you stop caring about the things you like youll find you can focus on caring about things you do like .
for those who like rap i say why not ? you the kind of music you like on a anime you like and make a AMV you like. just dont make another shitty one ...

once you stop caring about things you DONT like youll find you can focus on caring about things you do like , as if to say if you dont like something and it doesnt bother you like a rap AMV then let it go...

I am a rap fan, plus I derive a good percentage of my income from rap music (I'm a producer), and I must say that when placed in the wrong hands any genre of music can suck when used for AMV's. I have seen some good hiphop themed AMV's and some very poor one's. It just depends on the creator.

Im not a big fan of rap, never really have been but you know what people? if you dont like rap, dont download the videos!! Is it that hard?! I mean instead of insulting the people who make them because theyre not the ones that you want, make your own. And if you cant? then shut up.

I dont have any idea how to make an AMV and I dont sit here and bitch because barely anyone makes American Head Charge amvs. AMVers arent here to serve you, the vids they make are their creation, their art and they can put whatever type of music the damn well want in it.

You are right about that. Rap and AMVs can work. You just have to know what you are doing. I've seen videos where they just slapped clips with the music and just try to let it flow. 9 times out of 10 that results in a bad video. I made a rap amv a few months ago and its gotten great criticism. megaman917 can vouch for that as well. you can check it out and judge for yourself.
