Groups I have discovered by typing random words into KaZaA

Postby Chaos Angel » Tue Sep 24, 2002 9:10 pm

For the past few days, I have been typing random words into the audio search under KaZaA and downloading whatever looks good in the results in an effort to expand my musical repertoire. Here are some groups I have discovered with this method.

Fenix TX
Promise Ring
Me First and the Gimme Gimmes
John Mayer
Earshot

Who else has done this and found some good shtuff they never heard of before?

That's how I found a lot of good ambient/techno/electronica music. But I don't type in random words, I just select the category and leave the search query blank. But the only ones I remember that I found that way were Royksopp and Tangerine Dream.

i found too many to count...or remember.

I'm still wondering how many percent anime take up on Kazaa though. I noticed that, there's a "lot" of adult stuff on there but anime prolly takes up the most gigs.

Hmmm....anyway, too many to count. I found Garlic Arsenic or something like that. Weird name, music is so-so.

Tangerine Dream... Christopher Franke, who wrote the soundtrack for Tenchi Muyo in Love (Tenchi Movie 1) was a member of Tangerine Dream. I found the CD in my local Best Buy on accident. It's pretty good, mostly instrumental, which is nice.

I like John Mayer a lot. Fenix TX is decent; I still like Threesome better than anything else on the Lechuza (sp?) album.

I do basically the same thing with randomly typing in names and seeing what bands I get. The only difference is that I go out and buy random CDs by people I've not heard or heard much of.

Haven't hit on anything I didn't like yet, which is a large surprise.

Hooray for musical diversity!
Everyone is not the same as you.
