God that rules. I used to be a huge fan of the Minibosses http://www.minibosses.com, until they stopped putting out a whole lot of music, and another band called Generic (which died a year ago *sniff*) used to replicate the music very well through real instruments. >< I wish they hadn't of gone down. I still have their MP3s, if anyone wants them, e-mail me and once I get my server up, they'll be up for download.

PSX usually has games with better music.

Like the redone Chrono Trigger

gaaah! Chronicles was only worth buying for FFV. The Chrono Trigger didn't have a mode changing interlude, so you get this really lagtastic catch when it's switching in and out of Battle Mode. Despite the short and sweet cutscenes. The only thing I really use my PSX for is Einhander and DDR.

http://www.mirsoft.info has a few remixes, but most I had heard were crappy.

I disagree... not to say that the music isn't good, but those classic nintendo themes are touchless and etched in our minds as these gods that hang over us and mock us with their silver tounges and wooden spoons.... telling us BAD BAD BAD!!!!

or something like that...

hmm, I disagree now. I'd say one of the main reasons Ninendo themes are etched into it's generations head's is because the music was so minimalistic, you could do nothing but have it stuck in your head, bonded to a memory. PSX is a different generation. I grew up on NES, andothers grow up on Genesis, PSX, etc.

I can't really get into new games for some reason. I stuck to FFVI while people moved to FFVII, and the 3d models didn't grip me like the low res 2d sprites did.

But that's just me. You can't really argue something as subjective as what systems were better :P I'm NES and SNES
