I'm not exactly sure on my 'one' favorite band of all time. But I would have to say its either In Flames or H.I.M. Those are the two, and thats about all I have to say...

Sonata Arctica has been my favorite for a few years now and I don't think it's gonna change in a while. ;) Fast songs are the best of Sonata, the only slow songs I like are Shy and Shamandalie.
I like The White Stripes, Led Zeppelin and Nightwish too. And CMX. (which is a finnish band, lyrics are finnish too so i guess it's now very known outside Finland)

Another thread rises from its' grave, and I feel compelled to do a reality check...

Yea, that's still very true.

Aside from that, my top 5 has rearranged itself slightly, with

DDT
David Sylvian
Captain Beefheart
Frank Zappa

Taking the following 4 spots respectively.

Eh

They're a curse on the world at large, man.

Probably... Blind Guardian, Dream Theater, and Pink Floyd.

I don't think it's truly possible for me to list one band or artist.

- Marillion (best band of the world, of course)
- Mostly Autumn (best singerine of the world in an awesome young band of progressive rock, with pink Floyd inspiration )
- Porcupine Tree (best band in the progressive rock actually, with the best producer/mixer too)
- Pain Of Salvation (best progressive metal band, with an excellent singer called Daniel Gildenlow)
- Blind Guardian (best album of metal in general with "Nightfall in middle Earth")
