The Velvet Revolver - Sucker Train Blues

Great opening track off the cd Contraband Just love it's flow ... and damn ... it's great to hear slash do something as not part of Guns n' Roses .. He was underappreciated imho
...the problem I see a lot is that many good amv makers think they suck, and many bad amv makers think they're good.
I've seen it happen, man! I've SEEN IT!..

Black Sabbath - Heavan and Hell

It's not the typical Sabbath sound, and while it's pretty much indisputable that Dio's work with the band is less important then the seven Ozzy discs, it's not any less fun to listen to. The collision of '60s-'70s psychedelia vibes with NWOBHM speed and melodic tastes on this track makes it particularly nifty.

Velvet revolver are an amazing band, Slash is quite amazing.

Anywah: Led Zeppelin - "Black Dog"

This has long been my favourite Led Zep song, after watching the DVD compilation of their live shows they also became one of my favourite bands too.
I'm bored and you're dumb. A match made in heaven.

dee dee ramone w/youth gone mad - false alarm

good song. sounds like it could be a ramones song. has dee dee's signature style in lyrics. also, dee dee's the one on guitar, so thats cool.

this was his last project before he died, and i went through hell to find this CD.

Citizen Cope - Mistaken ID

Great track, Flow of the verses with a mellow beat, add in a story about a senile chick .. all just adds to the flavor.

Protege-Moi ~ Placebo

I love this song. It's mostly in French. I love the lyrics (french version and english version), but I prefer the French version over the English one. I think it sounds better in French.

We danced in graveyards with vampires till dawn. We laughed in the faces of king, never afraid to burn. Watching us wither. Black winged roses that safely changed their colour.
Doesn't take much to rip us into pieces.

"Casey Jones" - The Grateful Dead

Good stuff. :)

So if I post here, does anyone actually read this stuff? Or is this thread just making posts that no one ever reads? :wink:

Agreed. Good times with that one, and a lot of others standing behind a deserted counter late at night. Classic rock and laid-back service-sector jobs just go right together.

And some people do read this...just few respond. It's good to have a thread like this as a kind of game preserve to keep people from spamming new topics when they get turned on by a new song.

While typing this post, the following songs came up in the playlist:
* Hypocrisy, "Disconnected Magnetic Corridors"
* C.W. McCall, "Riverside Slide"
* Memoria, "Misery's End"

That's depressive melodic doom-death, morbid old-school country, and female-fronted goth-rock...none of which are signed to RIAA-participating labels. Support the resistance, fight INDUCE!

"You could be mine"-Guns n' Roses
"Stray cat strut"-The Stray Cats
"Blood Pollution"-Steel Dragon --> Man, the guitar solo in this song is hair raising awesome \m/ >_<

And if you haven't seen the music video for "I wanna rock", you should. You can watch it at yahoo music vids.

KlusterTU - Voima

This rarity of a band has only performed 4 shows together, and consists of two duos - American TU, Trey Gunn and Pat Mastelotto (both of King Crimson fame) and Finnish Kluster, Kimmo Pohjonen and Samuli Kosminen. This particular track is one of the only two pieces of music that is available to those who didn't attend one of those shows...

Well, I think it having the particular musicians and instruments it has (including digital & analog percussion, Warr Guitar and, of all things, an accordion!) already spells trouble. Some real good improv this is. The accordion work is amazingly intense, and once you get to the part where Pat starts going for the real hard beat, Trey starts exchanging blasts with Kimmo's accordion...It's a lot of fun. You can tell those 4 guys are having a lot of fun pumping out that hybrid, ethnic-y sound together. An album is promised - I can only pray... :roll:
