Led Zeppelin - Fool in the Rain

What can I say?
Love the lively sounding guitar riffs in this song.
The drums play an excellent role in the song. (it always does though, can't beat John Bonham's play)
But it really gets good in the middle portion of the song when Bonham starts using many different assortments of drums to make it...even more fun to listen to. Awesome shit.

Pantera - Cemetery Gates

(courtesy of Flint)
Ironic that I should only hear this song for the first time today. I guess it's true even of me now - you hear the news, you race to catch up on something/someone that was just lost.

Better late than never for me, I suppose.

And I suppose another slightly-belated tribute is due...

Hmm...I seem to be in a musical trance.

Bump Of Chicken - Hybrid Rainbow

As you can see from the song title, a cover made by the Pillows.
Good song.
When you have a 'I-feel-like-I-want-to-listen-to-a-different-style-of-hybrid-rainbow-yet-experience-the-same-concept-of-the-song' feeling, this is the one for you. w000000t.

Wow, I thought this thread would be closed by now...

And because it's not, I'll contribute with my op.

Sonata Arctica -- WinterHeart's Guild Album (all of it).

Excelent Album, It's the only one I have, and I'd like to now if there are some other good albums from them. Someone please tell me. :P

Whow, I've read a few of the posts made on this thread and it's quite interesting the fact that there are so much more music out there I've never even heard of. I'd like to add my favorite song:

Despre Tine- O-Zone

It's in a foreign language and I haven't even found the lyrics to it yet, but my friend gave me a link to it and I fell in love with this group. It's awesome....Btw, does anyone know what language it might be in (referring to the song title)?[/quote]

Damageplan- Breathing new life

Kinda sucks that this is the only song i have from the band

for those that dont know during a concert someone ran up on stage and shot the lead guitarist, Dimebag, who was also in Pantera
I saw damageplane 2 times in concert and now, never again

Snow Patrol - Run

Let's just say I'm really hooked on it lately.
Beautiful lyrics, and very melodic.
It's so....influential.
It wells me up. Really.

Timo Tolki - Key to the Universe

I know that erverybody hates him for throwing Kotipelto out of Stratovarius, but his solo album "Hymn to Life" is great at least I like it.

Dungortheb - Misanthrope

James Murphy is going to have to watch out; his all-star Death tribute is looking more and more like it'll be overshadowed by the no-name Chinese label that's putting out the tribute comp that this track'll be on. The cover is dead-on, and the sound is just monstrous, even in comparison to the original. Just like with the Gory Blister track I think I mentioned in this thread before, the band's name is a little dumb, but their death metal chops are impeccable.

Listen in if you like.

(note to admins: this is an official offering, not pirated)

Another good choice from the milkbar.

Metallica - "One S&M"

Great, so much better than the original, this music really lends itself to classical.
I'm bored and you're dumb. A match made in heaven.

King Crimson - ProzaKc Blues (Live, London, 2000)

"... I went to my physician, who was buried in his thoughts
He said:
"Son, you been readin' too much
Elephant talk!"

"You see the thing about depression is
Well you can just really get ya down
You have to see the world for what it is -
A circus full of freaks and clowns, uh-huh
And you never please everybody
It's a well-established fact"

"I recommend a fifth of jack,
And a bottle o' Prozac!"

Evergrey - Recreation Day

And I must say, it's one of those unusual cases where the piano stands out for me - I don't consider myself a huge fan of the instrument in general, but songs such as this are convincing examples of how it can be used to good dramatic effect in modern music.

Atreyu - Lip Gloss and Black

Any takers?
Eh, the screaming is pretty decent.
Its the understandable vocal's harmony with the instruments that makes it enjoyable.
Pretty good intro, as well as the ending. (The guitar in the ending is awesome.)
