Pantera - "Cemetary Gates"

Once Rubyeye said their new album reminded him of Evanescence, I knew you would suddenly latch on to it like a leech.

Meh, I was hooked on them from their earlier albums. That don't sound like Evanescence. And their newer one doesn't really either. Maybe a little, but thats not why I like them. Like them coz the chick is an amazing singer, the songs sound good, and they actually have singing in them which is rare these days, as it's mostly all yelling. Or generic rap/RnB.

"Wasting My Time" - Default.

Fuck those guys sound like Nickelback. Thought it WAS nickelback at one point.

"Enigma" - Trapt

These guys are alright. wish I could find their album somewhere.

I wouldn't be surprised if it will/did get released. Who knows what they'll do nowadays.

Dream Theater - "Led Zeppelin"

Being a massive fan of Led Zeppelin and a new fan towards Dream Theater, how could I resist this?

It's very good, the singer does quite a good job filling Robert Plant's boots and Joe Petrucci (the guitarist) does an extremely good job as the "Jimmy Page"without loosing his own guitar flair.

Good stuff.
I'm bored and you're dumb. A match made in heaven.

"Asleep, I Lie" - Earshot

First time I heard this song was on a friends pretty cruddy DBZ video. As it is, I'd only ever heard of the band once before, because of their song "Headstrong" on the Queen Of the Damned soundtrack. But after this song I went hunting for their other stuff, discovered it was rather hard to find, and also discovered that I liked them a fair bit.

One of my top 5 obscure bands, at least.

Televator - The Mars Volta

Brilliant song. I'm usually upbeat and hyperactive, but this song brings out a hidden side of me. It only happens with this song, don't know why or how; just does. A friend told me that if this side of me was permanent, I'd most probably be the most down to earth guy there is. Strange huh?

It reminds me of something. I can't put my finger on it, but I know that it's real. It's possible that it may have happened to me, but my memory blanked it out or something.

I made a Final Fantasy VIII music video with this song. I've been told that it's good, but I haven't put it onto a-m-v.org yet.

^ Great song, sir. Though I do actually like a whole bunch of songs on that album more, I'll acknowledge that the one in question has a lot of subtlety others don't.

***

King Crimson - Dangerous Curves (from Level 5 EP)

Recorded live in 2001, either on tour with Tool or just before it at a show in Nashville (probably the latter).

This rhythm-based piece continues to appeal me in its' variations. It was a beast in 2001, it got even beastlier in 2002's recording on 'The Power to Believe', but of course hearing, and especially seeing the thing live (and I mean live; the DVD doesn't do some very interesting things going on at the drumkit justice) it live in 2003 was the ultimate experience.

A true rhythmic tension-builder that fuses conventional instruments with ingenious use of synth and loops. At some points, I counted up to 6 beat-boxes and loops running simultaneously when I was watching it live in concert. It's amazing Pat Mastelotto can keep up with them, let alone have them all synched to perfection

Road of Major - 僕らだけの歌

Japanese rock band.
I like it. Good music to my ears.
Good vocals, nice rythmn.
I enjoy the lyrics a lot.

Speaking of Road of Major,
Pianos created a monster using Road of Major's 大切なもの, another great song, which I will be listening to after this current song.

And just as I was wrapping this post up, the song's over and currently is playing 大切なもの right now.

Another good song. Whoo

godsmack - keep away

man, i really want to see godsmack in concert, but i dont like their new stuff, as they substituted anger with melancholy(which is hard to spell, of all things), and who wants that? not me, thats for sure! :x

"Haunted" - Poe

Awesome song - strangely addictive and compelling. Requiett got me onto it while we were discussing the book "House of Leaves" - which I REALLY need to read.
